I use to eat salad only if I could have lots of salad dressing on the salad. When we changed our diet to consist of healthy food without the sugar salad dressing was no more. I did not like eating salad anymore. I felt like I was being fed rabbit food. I had lettuce, carrots, and tomatoes with out salad dressing. Not a lot of flavor.
Now I love to make salad and eat salad! You can be creative in the toppings you put on it. The possibilities are endless!
You also need a good salad dressing. Salad dressing adds a lot of flavor to a good salad.
Some ideas of what you can make your salad with:
Green leaf lettuce, romaine lettuce, spinach, carrots, tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers, onions, cucumbers, hard boiled eggs, avocado, raisins, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, apples, slivered almonds, pine nuts, feta cheese, blue cheese, parmesan cheese.
And of course whole, clean salad dressing!
This salad dressing is super easy to make. All you to do is put all the ingredients in your blender and blend. So easy! I like to store my dressing in a container that has a tight lid so I can shake it good when I am ready to use it again.
Please note if you store it in your fridge the oil will harden.
Easy, Healthy Salad Dressing
1 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
2 Tblsp. onion
1 tsp. salt
2 cloves garlic
1 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. dry basil
1/2 tsp. orengano
1/4 tsp. black pepper
Blend all ingredients in blender. Blend until all ingredients are mixed well. Store in a air tight container in your fridge.
