I LOVE chili in the fall and winter!
In the fall when the leaves start to change colors and it is a crisp evening chili really hits the spot!
On a snowy winter day, when you have been outside playing in the snow with the kids, and need a quick and easy dinner, chili is perfect!
I have been making my own chili through the years and have changed the recipe often. I really like this recipe because it is easy but has a lot of flavor.
Adding the salsa adds flavor and a little kick with little effort.
Remember to look at the ingredients in everything you cook with. You don’t want sugars and preservatives. If you don’t know what the word is then don’t eat it. You might be surprised when you start looking at ingredients to see what contains sugar.
A little trick that I do with my ground beef is I buy it in bulk at Costco. I cook it all at once with onions until ground beef is cooked and onions are tender. I then divide it into about one pound increments and store in ziploc freezer bags in the freezer. If you do this then you can put the meat in with the other ingredients and simmer it all together without defrosting it before hand. Super easy!
