Being on a whole foods diet, with no refined sugar, we are often asked “What do you eat for dessert?” We have a lot of things we eat for dessert. One dessert thing I am glad we don’t have to go without. Chocolate!
This is one of our favorite desserts. I love chocolate and peanut butter together. It is so yummy! The oats in the peanut butter mixture add some substance to it. It is a satisfying dessert. A small piece will go a long way.
A lot of times when you are making chocolate without sugar it tastes bitter. This does not taste bitter. You will have to let me know what you think.
I recently took this to a family dinner and it got eaten really fast! No one could believe it was sugar free. The adults loved it as well as the kids. It was a success!
These are really easy to make! For the peanut butter base you will want to heat the peanut butter and raw unfiltered honey just until it mixes well. Then you will add the oats. Spread in 9×13 pan.
When making the chocolate mix all ingredients in a small saucepan and heat until coconut oil is melted and all ingredients are mixed together. Pour the mixture over the peanut butter mixture. Refrigerate. Once the chocolate is set you can cut into squares.
You will want to keep this refrigerated as the coconut oil will get soft.
