Easy, Healthy Salad Dressing

I use to eat salad only if I could have lots of salad dressing on the salad.  When we changed our diet to consist of healthy food without the sugar salad dressing was no more.  I did not like eating salad anymore.  I felt like I was being fed rabbit food.  I had lettuce, carrots, and tomatoes with out salad dressing.  Not a lot of flavor.

Now I love to make salad and eat salad!  You can be creative in the toppings you put on it. The possibilities are endless!

You also need a good salad dressing.  Salad dressing adds a lot of flavor to a good salad.

Some ideas of what you can make your salad with:

Green leaf lettuce, romaine lettuce, spinach, carrots, tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers, onions, cucumbers, hard boiled eggs, avocado, raisins, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, apples, slivered almonds, pine nuts, feta cheese, blue cheese, parmesan cheese.

And of course whole, clean salad dressing!

 

Healthy Salad Dressing

This salad dressing is super easy to make.   All you to do is put all the ingredients in your blender and blend.  So easy!  I like to store my dressing in a container that has a tight lid so I can shake it good when I am ready to use it again.

Please note if you store it in your fridge the oil will harden.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 Tblsp. onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 tsp. dry basil
  • 1/2 tsp. orengano
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper

Instructions

  • Blend all ingredients in blender. Blend until all ingredients are mixed well. Store in a air tight container in your fridge.

    1. Hi Shannon…I’m really enjoying your daily posts! I will have to make the salad dressing. Sounds delicious. You say that if we store it in the fridge the oil will harden. Can it be stored outside the fridge? By the way, I made the bread recipe you broke down for me in my bread maker and it came out great! I had to add just a little more flour. Thank you sweet friend.

      1. Hi Maria! Thank you so much for your sweet comments! You are the best! The dressing can be stored outside the fridge for a few days. Sometimes I will make half the dressing so we don’t have a lot left over.
        I am glad the bread worked out well! I will have to post the recipe for others that want to make it that way.
