Whole Wheat Cheesy Biscuits

What is it about biscuits that are so yummy?  Especially with lots of butter on top!  Yum!

These biscuits are a little different because of the cheese in them.  I also love cheese so these are a win win!

Another great win is that they are super easy to make!  When you think “eat healthy, whole food” what is the first thing to come to mind?  For me it was “Oh no, I am going to be in my kitchen all day cooking!”

I hope my recipes are showing you that eating healthy can be quick and easy.

For this recipe you will need whole milk.  I little note on whole milk and dairy in general.  Part of a whole foods diet is to eat WHOLE food.  We all know that a lot of our food is processed.  In eating whole food it is not always perfectly whole but it is important to get as close as you can and that is good enough.

Dairy is pasteurized and processed and added to.  The only way to get whole dairy is to buy it directly from the farmer in raw form.  That is not always accessible and it is VERY expensive so we eat, drink dairy in whole form.  Nothing reduced in fat.

New research is starting to show that there is not a link between full fat dairy  and heart disease.  Weight gain as well.

Also fat free or low fat doesn’t necessarily have fewer calories or less sugar.  In fact sugar may be added to improve taste.

Also, always cook with whole wheat flour and not white flour.  White flour is high in carbs and not the good carbs.  It also has very little nutritional value.

I grind my own wheat but you can also buy whole wheat flour.  King Arthur, Whole Wheat Traditional Flour, 5 lb

I hope you enjoy these biscuits with your favorite soup or chili.  I have a great chili recipe here as well as several soup recipes.
