Who doesn’t like pizza?! I have always thought of pizza as being healthy. You have a lot of the food groups in one dish. I love when I can get a real rounded one dish meal. 🙂 The only problem with pizza is the dough is usually made with white flour and sugar. Here is a solution for that.
This is a super easy recipe for pizza dough. And it tastes good!
When putting dough on pan I find it easier to just push it out with my fingers. You can roll it out on the counter first with a rolling pin if you find that is easier. You can see my finger marks but once you put all the toppings on you won’t notice.
I also like to make the edges slightly thicker than the rest. It helps keep everything on the pizza and gives you a little thicker crust on the edge.
I make my own sauce. I use an 8 oz can of tomato sauce. (Remember to check the label for ingredients. I use tomato sauce that is tomato and spices only). Then I sprinkle garlic powder and Italian seasoning on it.
There are so many different kinds of toppings you can put on your pizza. Be creative! We like to do a veggi pizza, or ham and pineapple, or pepperoni!
You need to be careful when buying ham. Look at the ingredients. It is hard to find ham without sugar but you can find it. My favorite place to buy ham is at Costco. They have ham without sugar.
If you do pepperoni pizza Hormel Natural choice pepperoni is the best choice for a natural, whole food pepperoni.
Have fun creating what you and your family like! That is part of the fun of making your own pizza.
