Last weekend my husband and I went on a wild flower hike at Brighton ski resort here in Utah. It was beautiful! They had 4 levels of hikes, beginner, easy, intermediate, and advanced. We decided to try the advanced hike. I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to do an advanced hike. But the advanced hike went to the lake and I really wanted to hike to the lake. I don’t know that it was really advanced but it was a beautiful hike. And I was able to do it! I feel so accomplished every time I do something like this.
Every time I go hiking I am so grateful that I am able to go hiking! I am so appreciative that I feel good and can enjoy life. 6 years ago there is no way I could have gone on this hike and enjoy the beautiful flowers, the lake, the time with my husband. Really just enjoying God’s creations and life!
It took time to build up to this point. I took it a step at a time, literally. I love being outside! It does a lot of good for me mentally to get some fresh air and vitamin D from the sun. You also need to keep the joints moving.
Exercise is important in the process of being healthy and without pain. It is also important to have support. Whether your support is a spouse, friend, family member. It helps to have someone to be accountable too. I am so lucky to have my husband that supports me every step of the way and encourages me to be the best I can be.
